It's been revealed in court that the head of Dandara and a man subsequently convicted of election fraud pledged around £30,000 to a campaign for celebrity chef Kevin Woodford.
A jury was told Dan Tynan and Charles Lewin, who has admitted three counts of election fraud, were responsible for funding towards an ultimately unsuccessful campaign at the 2010 Douglas East by-election.
The claim came as Seamus Nugent, managing director of Heritage Homes, a company with the Dandara Group, gave evidence.
Four people are standing trial at Douglas courthouse - Geoffrey Callister of Port Erin, Gail Corrin of Douglas, Catherine Liggins and Kerry Rothwell, both of Onchan.
All deny charges relating to voting irregularities in the May 2010 Douglas East by-election.
