A case in Douglas, which centres on allegations of election offences during 2010's Douglas East by-election has opened at the Island's court house.
Seven people are facing charges.
The case is before Deemster David Turner, who was hearing legal arguments this morning.
Thirty five days have been set aside for the case although this morning the court was told it may run longer than that.
One of the first tasks that have to completed is jury selection, which may take some time.
