Claims accountability would be increased
The Minister for Policy and Reform thinks the Cabinet Office would be more effective as a fully-fledged government department.
John Shimmin says that giving the Office the legislative powers of a department would increase accountability and cut red tape.
The move would also enable its members to have greater influence in planning policy.
The motion change the status of the Cabinet Office is being put forward by Minister Shimmin in Tynwald today
