Manx Gas claimed lack of engagement
The Cabinet Office has hit back at Manx Gas over claims senior civil servants weren't willing to engage with the company over a new voluntary deal.
Tynwald voted to impose gas regulation this week after negotiations stalled.
The two sides have been unable to agree on the company's operating costs and domestic assets, which are needed to sign off the agreement.
In the meantime gas customers haven't been able to benefit from the lower prices and rebate on 2020 bills that was promised.
The Cabinet Office says it's 'engaged extensively with Manx Gas since 2019, and spent endless hours over two years working on a new agreement'.
It's after the energy company claimed it has tried to meet government officials '29 times since last November'.
According to the Cabinet Office, the latest version of the draft agreement was sent last week.
