Disappointed that Budget didn't include reduced VAT
Government has been accused of ‘brushing over’ the hospitality industry and not providing enough support to enable businesses to have ‘longevity’.
That’s the view of Vicky Cottier – the owner of Victory Café on the Mountain Road.
She’s disappointed that this year’s Budget didn’t make provision for a reduction in VAT saying paying 20 per cent is something that consistently causes cafes, pubs and restaurants to ‘go under’.
She told Manx Radio that due to rising costs they’ve had to pass increases on to their customers.
And she says they’re also struggling to employ staff:
