Brewery funds VIP visit for wardens
The two resident wardens on the Calf of Man had a break from the norm last weekend.
Aron Sapsford and Nathan Wilkie were taken from the Calf to Cardiff, courtesy of brewery Heineken, to watch the final of the UEFA Champions League.
The firm says it selected the isolated duo for this epic experience to demonstrate that 'no barrier should stand in the way of match night'.
It called on a suite of planes, trains, automobiles - and a fishing trawler - to enable Aron and Nathan to make the 836-mile round trip.
After a grooming session and new suits, they were given a UEFA guided tour of the media and flash zones and commentator stands, and a pitch-side visit during warm-up.
They watched the match from a hospitality box.
