
A group dedicated to preserving and repairing the Island’s green lanes says it welcomes prosecutions for those damaging the routes – but says more needs to be done to look after them.
Green Lanes - Our Heritage was set up during the row over vehicles damaging the Island’s uplands.
Through its website iomgreenlanes.co.uk it hopes to draw attention to the damage being caused.
And in the week the House of Keys was told three prosecutions are pending against irresponsible drivers, the group’s Richard Crowhurst says he’d like to see some of the lanes shut to traffic:
