Onchan MHK Peter Karran says the Manx government must start negotiating soon to give the Island more economic control over its seas.
In Tynwald next week, he’ll ask the court to back a motion calling on the government to start setting up an Exclusive Economic Zone.
If successful, the move would allow the Manx government to exploit maritime resources around our coasts.
Mr Karran says we should be pressuring the UK government after it set up a similar zone for the Falkland Islands.
