
Does the Isle of Man need a new body to oversee our energy companies?
This morning in Tynwald, Chief Minister Allan Bell was quizzed on the issue by South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft.
Mr Bell said a report was due to be considered by the Council of Ministers about energy regulation, and no decision would be made before the report’s findings had been considered.
But when he said the Office of Fair Trade had powers to investigate the industry, Mrs Beecroft claimed that doesn’t replace a regulator such as the UK’s OFGEM:
