
More than 100 homes on Willaston estate in Douglas are blighted with severe damp and the problem is getting worse, according to the MHKs for North Douglas.
John Houghton and Bill Henderson say damp and structural problems are creating miserable living conditions for many residents and claim more cases of penetrating damp caused by recent cavity insulation work are being reported to Douglas council every month.
Now the pair are applying to the Department of Social Care to have rents reduced for those affected.
A trial scheme to remedy the problem is geting underway on six homes.
But Mr Houghton says in the meantime Willaston tenants deserve a rent rebate:
