Former health minister believes it would be beneficial
A former health and social care minister has called for a debate on Manx Care’s mandate from government.
North Douglas MHK David Ashford will ask Tynwald to discuss the document which sets out the operational blueprint for the health body.
The Department of Health and Social Care sets the remit, objectives and priorities; the mandate itself is not subject to the court’s approval.
Despite this Mr Ashford told Manx Radio he believes it would be a helpful exercise for his fellow politicians:
The new Manx Care mandate came into force on Monday (1 April).
