Chief minister says sound evidence would be needed to justify process
The chief minister says calls for a forensic audit of Manx Care's spending is misguided.
Onchan MHK Julie Edge asked Alfred Cannan in this month's Tynwald sitting whether the healthcare provider's finances would be forensically audited ahead of bringing a new governance structure to Tynwald.
Figures recently published by government show Manx Care forecasting a £9million overspend on its operational spending in the current financial year.
Mr Cannan admits the figures are a concern but that's not enough to justify such a process:
