Ramsey Swing Bridge was built in 1892
Calls have been made for the Ramsey Swing Bridge to be put on the Island's protected buildings register.
Ramsey Town Commissioners has submitted a request to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
The bridge was built in 1892 and underwent refurbishment in 2013.
It's currently owned by the Department of Infrastructure.
Commissioners chairman Andy Cowie says the heritage of the bridge is 'unquestionable' and an 'integral part of Ramsey's skyline'.
He adds the bridge is in good condition and believes it's important the landmark is maintained for future generations.
