Group frustrated though by 'attempts at obstruction'
A Manx pro-choice group has welcomed the latest progress made by the Abortion Reform Bill.
The bill was at the clauses stage in the House of Keys yesterday.
The Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation says it is absolutely delighted MHKs listened to arguments from pro-choice reformers and passed amendments and new clauses covering access zones.
CALM's Stephanie Kelsey says the group has found the persistent attempts by the same few MHKs to obstruct this bill to be incredibly frustrating, though.
CALM concludes by saying it is now looking forward to the third reading next week, then scrutiny of the bill by the Legislative Council, and ultimately to the new law being granted Royal Assent.
