
Campaigners for a new breast cancer treatment unit for the Island are starting their next phase of fund-raising after reaching a milestone.
The Manx Breast Cancer Support Group's target to build a new centre offering dedicated facilities at Noble's hospital for the first time, is £1.5 million.
Yesterday the first sod was cut to mark the start of building work after 325,000 was raised from the Manx public and local benefactors.
Former breast cancer patient Karen Wagstaffe says the group is undeterred at the sum they it still has to raise - as so much has been achieved so quickly already:
