Posters to spread word about licensees' powers
Licensees can refuse to serve any customer without providing a reason - that's the message from the Island's Licensing Forum.
The organisation has launched a campaign to raise awareness of the powers held by those who run pubs, bars and other venues on the Island.
It comes following a number of cases of verbal and physical assault against those working in licensed premises.
The Forum has designed posters reminding customers that licensees have the right to ask anyone to leave their establishment, and that it's an offence not to comply.
Those who refuse to leave after being asked to do so risk a fine of £500.
