Move follows latest drug and alcohol strategy
Two public consultations on cannabis in the Isle of Man are due next month.
Manx Radio understands the medicinal use of the drug will be covered in one, while the other will look at the cultivation of hemp over here.
The consultations have been put together off the back of the government's most recent drug and alcohol strategy, to gauge Island residents' views on its policies towards cannabis.
Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson has been one of the more vocal Tynwald members on the topic.
He says there seems to be increasing debate about it elsewhere in the British Isles:
