MHK sees crop as 'revenue stream' for farmers
Allowing farmers to grow cannabis would help diversify agriculture on the Isle of Man.
That's the view of Ramsey MHK, Dr Alex Allinson.
Dr Allinson will ask the Treasury Minister at Tynwald tomorrow (17 July) whether, if the drug is legalised, the department has considered the tax revenue from a potential cannabis industry.
He says like the UK Home Office, licenses could be issued for growers of both medicinal and industrial versions of the drug:
