Treasury minister questions 'end of austerity' claim
The Island's treasury minister believes the UK budget is an "easing" of austerity rather than it coming to an end as claimed by his UK counterpart.
Philip Hammond announced tax cuts and the easing of welfare curbs for poorer working families in his latest UK budget in the House of Commons yesterday (29 October).
He also pledged more money for the health service, and to help roll out universal credit.
