Michael MHK Alf Cannan says Department of Health initiatives to reduce waiting lists have been little more than 'scraping the edge' of the problem so far.
He was less than impressed with Health Minister David Anderson's response to his question on the matter in Tynwald.
Mr Anderson had told Mr Cannan an appontments bureau had been set up to manage them centrally, text alert reminders were being sent out, and the department was moving towards an opt-in system for appointments, among other things.
Mr Cannan said that wasn't good enough, as far as he was concerned:
Planning application for onshore wind farm still being developed
Motorcyclist suffered fatal chest injuries in crash
Trial for trio accused of producing Class A drugs to Island
Too early for 'direct action' over cost-of-living concerns says chief minister
Government gives assurance as inflation soars
