Admits communication around Budget was lacking
Government needs to ‘reconnect’ with the public and listen more.
That’s the view of the chief minister who says he believes this year’s Budget caught ‘many people by surprise’.
The higher rate of Income Tax will increase by two percent this month; it’s the first time since 2010 that taxes on the Island have gone up.
Following the Budget more than 1700 people signed an online petition calling for progress on a vote of no confidence in Alfred Cannan and his Council of Ministers.
