Measures to control the use of towed caravans in the Island are fixing a problem which doesn’t exist, according to one vehicle owner.
A new permit system is for caravans being introduced as part of a partnership between infrastructure chiefs, the Steam Packet and freight operators.
Island resident Brett Hammonds is a caravan owner and has started an e-petition hoping to ease proposed restrictions.
It’s attracted nearly 400 signatures.
He says stringent legislation isn’t required:
