
The loss of sailings between the Island and UK due to bad weather has left local courier firms with a backlog of parcels to deliver before Christmas.
Containers filled with presents ordered online have been held-up after ferry cancellations yesterday and Wednesday.
On top of stocking Island retail businesses with goods, carriers have seen a massive increase in orders from residents buying on the internet.
Manx Independent Carriers had eight van rounds several years ago, now they have 26 - handling around 20,000 parcels a week in December.
