Beth Cannan believes pedestrianising the square is in the the town's best interests
The outgoing chair of Castletown Commissioners says she still believes Market Square should be pedestrianised, despite losing her seat on the local authority.
Beth Cannan finished bottom in this week's election, as nine candidates sought the seven seats on the board.
The decision to pedestrianise Market Square was a big talking point in the run up to the election, with candidates who spoke out against the closure faring well with voters.
Despite this, Mrs Cannan told Manx Radio it's still the right move for the town:
