Blue plaque to be unveiled by former chief minister
Castletown Railway Station is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a community event to commemorate its official opening.
Entertainment, old photos, machinery, and other memorabilia will be on display at a community event from 3.30pm, along with a raffle to support projects to enhance the station.
At 6.45pm, a plaque will be unveiled by former Chief Minister Tony Brown, who secured the railway's long-term future during his time as transport minister.
The Isle of Man’s Lieutenant Governor and Lady Lorimer are expected to attend the unveiling ceremony of the blue plaque.
