It’s not yet known what caused the death of a visiting diver.
Eric Warburton from Bury died after surfacing in the sea near Sugarloaf Rocks in Port St Mary earlier this month.
The 62-year-old, a laboratory assistant at Manchester University, had been visiting the Island on a diving trip with friends.
This afternoon at Douglas courthouse, Coroner of Inquests John Needham said enquiries would continue and expressed his condolences to Mr Warburton’s sister, who attended the hearing.
His body has now been released so funeral arrangements can be made.
