Developer urged to demolish "eyesore" hotel
A residents group has given a cautious welcome to proposals for a multimillion pound complex on the site of Castletown Golf Links.
Fort Island Developments, part of the Dandara Group, has submitted plans which would see the former golf links hotel demolished and be replaced with a boutique hotel with luxury apartments, plus an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna and treatment rooms.
Members of the Derbyhaven Residents Society welcome a replacement hotel - they've described the current one as a ‘steadily deteriorating eyesore’ - but are concerned about potential inappropriate development.
Chairman Tim Cullen says there’s been an open and informative dialogue with the developer so far – and he’s confident that will continue.
