Reverend Jon Garde was previously based on the Moray Coast in Scotland
A new member of the Island's methodist church says the opportunity to experience Celtic culture and promote bible study brought him to the Island.
As the new minister in the northern section, Reverend Jon Garde is based in Ramsey, but also has responsibility for the churches at Bride, Agneash, Laxey and Onchan.
He comes to the Island from the Moray Coast in Scotland, but was born and raised in Melbourne in Australia.
When the vacancy came up, Jon said it was one that appealed to him for a number of reasons:
