Resources used elsewhere during pandemic
Next year's census could be delayed by 12 months as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Planning for an online census had been underway prior to the outbreak, but resources have had to be used elsewhere.
Policy and Reform Minister Ray Harmer says postponing the population study is being considered ahead of this month's Budget update.
It's hoped the delay will allow further planning and development to take place to allow information to be collected online by default, with non-digital options also available for those without internet access.
