Report says IOM lacks financial intelligence
The president of the Island's Chamber of Commerce says it's understandable we can't show a track record of prosecuting financial crime in the Isle of Man, given the high standards of compliance and KYC (know your customer) by local business.
Mickey Swindale was speaking after the release of an assessment by the Council of Europe's committee, Moneyval.
It criticised the Isle of Man's performance - saying we performed poorly in terms of financial intelligence.
Miss Swindale says there may be a reason for that:
