Thursday deadline for by-election nominations
Two members of the Ramsey community could soon be added to the ranks of the town’s local authority and have a say in issues such as housing and waste management.
The deadline is approaching for nominations for the two vacant positions on Ramsey Town Commissioners, one each in North and South Wards.
The successful candidates will serve the remaining term until 2020, when a local authority general election will take place.
Current chairman of the commissioners Andy Cowie says anybody looking to stand must be passionate about Ramsey and committed to the role.
Those seeking to stand must submit nomination forms to the returning officer at the Town Hall on Thursday (28 June) by 5pm.
More information can be found online via the authority's website.
