It's hoped it will be cleared and re-opened in a few days time
Port St Mary Commissioners have closed Chapel Beach until further notice.
It's believed to be due to an oil contamination.
MHK Michelle Haywood says the Department of Infrastructure Harbours are clearing the oily substance and the beach should re-open in a few days time.
