Organisations affected will be contacted
Regulations pertaining to the Charities Registration and Regulations Act 2019 have come into force.
Significant changes have been made to the Charities Registration and Regulations Act, meaning any group on the Manx Charity Register must now have written governing documents.
Charities affected by this will be contacted in the coming months.
The Attorney General, whose office will now look after the register, is keen to assist charities in understanding the importance of governing documents.
Attorney General John Quinn QC MLC said ‘We live in a very charitably-minded community, but we need to ensure the charities are regulated and administered accordingly'.
To contact the Charities Registration Officer, email charities@gov.im or call 687318.
