Alzheimer’s Society thanks supporters of Better Together carers’ groups

Local venues are being thanked for the support they’ve given to the Alzheimer’s Society’s Better Together carers’ groups.

The peer support sessions have been running for just over a year, giving people who care for someone with dementia the opportunity to take a break from their caring responsibilities and meet others who understand what they’re going through.

The weekly meetings are held at Riley’s Garden Centre, Ramsey Swimming Pool and Golfers Rest at the Port St Mary Golf Pavilion.

Alzheimer’s Society dementia advisers are also available to offer information and support.

The charity says it’s grateful to the venues for providing friendly, accessible places for carers to meet, with their hospitality helping Better Together become a regular source of connection and support in the community.

The meeting details are

  • Mondays: Riley’s Garden Centre Café, Braddan
  • Mondays: Golfers Rest, Port St Mary Golf Club
  • Tuesdays: Ramsey Swimming Pool Cafe

All groups run from 2.00pm to 3.30pm and are for carers only.
