Small organisation calling for more support
A local charity is urging people to wear purple later this week (Thurs 26 March), to show their support for epilepsy and similar conditions.
Epilepsy and Pyschogenic Seizures Isle of Man (EPSA IOM) has been campaigning with UK charity Epilepsy Action to help provide medical and mental health services for Manx patients.
The organisation undertook a survey in 2016, which revealed nearly 1,000 people on the Island have some form of the condition - and have to travel for appointments.
Chairman Bethany de Legh-Runciman, who suffers from pyschogenic seizures, says the day is essential:
