
It could be some time before charities see funding coming from dormant bank accounts.
Yesterday, it was revealed that up to £10 million of funding could come from such sources.
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says the government has plans to bring in legislation which would see the "forgotten" money in dormant accounts, currently retained by banks, doled out to charities deemed worthy of the support.
Mr Teare says whilst the scheme shouldn't be difficult to set up, there would have to be a robust order trail to ensure the money is used properly for good causes.
But he admits it may be some time before government puts its plans into action
