A sixth general election candidate has come forward in Castletown.
Mahendra Patel has spent over 25 years working in the town, where he and his wife run the Castle Pharmacy.
Mr Patel says nationally there needs to be a revision of the health provision both on and off-Island, a review of pensions and continual upkeep of infrastructure, but not at the expense of aesthetics, among other things.
Meanwhile, in Castletown he says more needs to be done with the regeneration scheme as, despite the aesthetic improvements, the variety and number of retail outlets which form the vital basis of the heart of the town has been reduced.
The other candidates in Castletown are Jason Moorhouse, David Pownall and local commissioners Colin Leather, Carol Quine and Richard Ronan.
Nomination day for election candidates is on Tuesday (August 30), with polling on Thursday, September 29.
