Six month interim post allows time for review says CEO
Recruiting an interim chief fire officer to lead the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service is an opportunity to provide ‘breathing space’.
That’s the view of the chief executive of the Department of Home Affairs.
It follows the retirement of Kevin Groom after 40 years of service – a six month post was advertised for local candidates with a full time post for all interested parties due to be advertised after.
Dan Davies says there is nothing ‘sinister’ in the decision:

Government 'neglecting' heritage assets across the Island
Motiv8: 'We will never reach all the children on the Isle of Man'
House of Keys question paper dominated by one MHK
Onchan Commissioners to undertake 'accessibility' review of park equipment
