Alfred Cannan admits progress on windfarms has been slower than expected
The chief minister says he expects government's position on renewable energy to be challenged in the run up to next year's election.
The Council of Ministers recently accepted for examination an application for an offshore windfarm, while proposals for an onshore development are still in the pipeline.
Alfred Cannan insists it's right for government to continue to pursue renewable energy, despite calls for a referendum on climate change to take place alongside the 2026 House of Keys General Election.
Former MHK Paul Quine recently called for such a vote, while Middle MHK Stu Peters will being a motion to December's sitting of Tynwald seeking support for the idea.
Mr Cannan admits progress has been slower than expected:
Three-month wait for state pension forecast statements
OFT to investigate possible regulation of funeral directors
"One of the Island's foremost champions of Manx heritage" to receive Tynwald Honour
No timeline yet for reinstatement of rehab service to north
Venezuela Fury & Noah Price wedding "a true showcase of the breadth and quality of Manx services"
