Claims hospitality workers' exemption a win-win
We have to do what’s right to grow the Island’s economy.
Those are the words of Chief Minister Howard Quayle in the week a temporary work permit exemption was introduced to ease staffing shortages in the Manx hospitality sector.
A union has criticised the move and says the focus should be on securing improved conditions and wages for workers.
But the Chief Minister has rubbished suggestions visiting workers will be exploited.
