Alfred Cannan has used Twitter to send his congratulations to Liz Truss.
She was officially appointed to the role today succeeding Boris Johnson.
After formally accepting the job from the Queen she has since outlined her three early prioritys as boosting the economy, cutting energy bills and reducing NHS waiting times.
