Firefighters called to fire on Dalton Street over the weekend
The fire service is urging those with open fires and log burners to ensure they’re well maintained after firefighters were called out to tackle a chimney fire in Douglas.
Crews attended a property on Dalton Street yesterday afternoon, where a well established fire was discovered high up in the flue.
The fire was contained within the flue, with officers spending around 40 minutes at the scene.
With temperatures expected to fall over the next few days, the fire service says this is a timely reminder to ensure chimneys are regularly inspected and swept.
