Festivities begin on Thursday next week
Considered 'The official start of Christmas', Manx Telecom is sponsoring the switching on of the Douglas Christmas lights later this month.
The streets of the capital will be festively lit up on Thursday 22 November.
Douglas Town Band will get proceedings underway with some festive favourites at 6:15pm.
Santa will have his grotto set up in the gardens adjoining the town hall and live acts will be performing on a stage in John Street.
At 7pm the Mayor of Douglas will switch on the lights, 'snow will fall' and late-night shopping will commence.
All of the event is free. Except the late-night shopping.
