New rules may be in place by next June
Health and Social Care Minister Howard Quayle MHK says cigarettes could be hidden in the Island's shops by TT next year.
His department’s launched a consultation aimed at businesses to produce rules governing the recently-introduced laws banning tobacco advertising.
The regulations would force shops to lock away tobacco products and will also set how prices can be displayed.
Mr Quayle says the days of cigarette displays are well and truly numbered:
