CDC rack up 5,300 hours of service in 2015/16
Manx civil defence volunteers are being praised by the Home Affairs boss.
Minister Bill Malarkey hailed the work of the Island's Civil Defence Corps - calling its 5,300 hours of service in the last year pivotal to community events.
It's there to bolster the provision of frontline resources, including; police, fire brigade, ambulance service and the coastguard.
Regularly trained members also took part in searches for missing people and any emergency responses to severe weather - like the December 2015 flood.
Mr Malarkey has said it's a 'shining example of the Island's caring nature'.
