MHK says morale low in areas of civil service
An MHK claims morale in some sections of the Island’s civil service is low because management issues have not been addressed.
Onchan member Julie Edge believes a ‘core of hard working people’ are being affected as a result.
Last week, she called for an independent structural review of Civil Service employees at executive officer level and above.
Tynwald backed her move but said the timing and cost of a review would have to be first agreed.
Ms Edge is concerned a 'top-heavy' management structure has been created and says the right areas now need to be scrutinised.
