Island seeing consequences for those on low incomes
The Chair of the Council of Voluntary Organisations says poverty DOES exist and is growing on the Island.
David Gawne was speaking following the setting up of a new Tynwald Committee to investigate the issue.
Juan Watterson's proposal was opposed by some in the court, who believed there was already lots of work on poverty being undertaken.
However, Mr Gawne says the Isle of Man is seeing the consequences of those having to survive on a low income.
