IoM Green Party says change is needed following Dr Ranson tribunal
A 'clear lack of accountability' is preventing Tynwald from challenging government over issues like the Dr Rosalind Ranson tribunal.
That's the view of the leader of the Isle of Man Green Party after Chief Minister Alfred Cannan faced questions on the whistleblowing case at this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
Andrew Langan-Newton says too many MHKs and MLCs have political memberships of government departments and board - something that was flagged in a 2016 report into the Island's parliament.
He believes this needs to change:
Man who launched attack on van driver sentenced
RNLI's last serving Mersey class boat visits the Island
Double victory for Island's heritage railways
Demolition work to get underway on Douglas high street site
Pan-Island Skills Test returns to the Isle of Man
