Multiple teachers set to leave posts for good at Christmas
A local headteacher says allowing staff home to the UK over Christmas will relieve pressure on the Island's recruitment crisis.
As many teachers leave the Island for good at the end of this term, Annette Baker of Ramsey Grammar School has allowed eight members of staff to head home for compassionate reasons.
Substitutes and virtual learning will be employed during the first week of the January term, to cover those self-isolating.
Mrs Baker says if government wants to retain more staff in the months ahead, it needs to announce a clear-cut plan to reopen the borders:
