Warning issued to kayakers and paddleboarders
Kayakers and paddleboarders are being reminded to get clearance before entering, or leaving, Douglas’s outer harbour.
The Department of Infrastructure says this must be sought from the Marine Operations Centre.
In recent weeks the harbours division has responded to several situations where people have failed to communicate their plans.
In some cases, people have ignored signage providing clear instructions.
The Department has said: "Douglas Harbour is a busy commercial environment, where large vessels regularly manoeuvre within the port, and clearance is essential to ensure the safety of everyone concerned."
